Privacy & Confidentiality Policy

Last Updated: July 17, 2025

At BoardWise, we understand the deeply personal and high-stakes nature of professional license defense. We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring that you remain in full control of your information at all times.

1. What We Collect

BoardWise is designed to minimize data collection. We do not collect or store any sensitive case information, uploaded documents, or personally identifiable case files.

We may collect:

  • General user inputs during your session (not stored after the session ends)
  • Limited technical information (e.g., browser type, device, general usage patterns) for analytics
  • Optional email address, if provided for receiving updates or support

2. How We Use Your Information

Any information you provide is used solely to:

  • Generate editable documents based on your session inputs
  • Provide general guidance on licensing board processes
  • Improve platform performance and user experience (in aggregate)

We do not sell, rent, or share your information with any third party.

3. No File Uploads or Server-Side Data Storage

To protect your confidentiality, BoardWise does not allow file uploads or the storage of any sensitive personal or case information on our servers.

Instead, users are encouraged to:

  • Manually enter only non-confidential summaries during each session
  • Download any generated documents directly to their own device
  • Use our optional downloadable session file to save progress locally

You remain in full control of your data.

4. Confidentiality Commitment

BoardWise is not a legal service provider and does not access or review any case information. No one at BoardWise can view your session data unless you explicitly request technical support and provide such information directly.

We will never share information with licensing boards, employers, or legal authorities unless explicitly required by law (e.g., subpoena or court order).

5. Security Measures

While BoardWise does not store sensitive user data, we use modern security standards (including HTTPS encryption and secure coding practices) to protect your use of the platform in real time.

You are responsible for safeguarding any documents or session files downloaded to your own device.

6. Session File Option

To allow users to resume their work, BoardWise offers an optional downloadable session file. This file contains structured input data from your session and is stored only on your personal device. BoardWise does not access, store, or transmit these files.

If you lose your session file, we cannot recover your previous session.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy to reflect improvements to the platform or to comply with changing legal standards. All updates will be posted on this page. Your continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of any revisions.
