Celebrating Our Journey: BoardWise in the JTA Member Spotlight

Last week, BoardWise was honored to be featured in the JTA Member Spotlight, a meaningful milestone for us on the mission to make professional license defense accessible, empathetic, and tech driven.

Why This Matters

We founded BoardWise after I navigated a licensing board complaint as a registered nurse and felt firsthand how isolating, confusing, and expensive the process can be. As the JTA article notes, "Hundreds of thousands of licensed professionals — nurses, doctors, therapists, teachers and more — receive complaints from their licensing boards. For most, the experience is terrifying, isolating, and expensive." (justicetechassociation.org)

Too often, talented professionals face disciplinary investigations without meaningful, affordable support. Our platform was built to fill that gap: to help professionals respond with clarity, confidence, and compassion.

What We're Doing

As described in the spotlight, BoardWise is the "TurboTax of Professional License Defense." (justicetechassociation.org)

Here's how we're bringing that to life:

  • A guided, step-by-step digital experience that helps licensed professionals organize their case, draft professional responses, and protect their license. (justicetechassociation.org)
  • A one-time investment of $499 for lifetime access, or $167/month for three months, in contrast to the thousands typically charged by attorneys. (justicetechassociation.org)
  • Built from lived experience: I personally walked the path, so the design and flow are informed by what users need.

The Impact

Being featured by JTA means more than a spotlight; it affirms that the work we're doing matters in the wider "justice tech" ecosystem. In the interview, I said:

"Justice tech means that everyone gets a seat at the table, whether they can afford a lawyer or not (most cannot). At its core, justice tech protects our democracy and the rule of law." (justicetechassociation.org)

That's the vision we're living by. Every user who feels calmer, more empowered, and better prepared is part of changing the system, one case at a time.

What's Next

  • We're rapidly scaling, preparing for major strategic partnerships and funding, and refining the platform for broader license types and professions. (justicetechassociation.org)
  • We're deepening our empathy first design, making sure the user journey is as calming and clear as possible, because I know how it feels to be in the storm.
  • We're continuing to build BoardWise as a warm, reassuring, professional resource.

Thank You

A big thank you to JTA for recognizing the mission, and to everyone using BoardWise. Your trust fuels our passion. If you're a licensed professional facing a board complaint or just want to plan, we're here for you. You're not alone.
